Philosophy and religion - together or apart?

Why did we come to this earth, what is good andevil, who is God and what is His nature, what life and death are, what is the soul - these two questions are answered by two close directions: philosophy and religion. They define spiritual values - goodness, justice, truth, love and faith. And also satisfy the spiritual needs and needs of man.

The correlation of philosophy and religion has many common featuresaspects. They include an ontology that states that the world is created by God. Gnoseology gives an idea of the Holy Scripture; anthropology explains the three components of a person (body, spirit and soul) and the immortality of the soul. The religious-philosophical concept includes theology (the doctrine of God creating the entire universe) and morality (the behavioral principles of people oriented toward the Holy Scriptures).

In the ancient era, philosophy and religion were the doughare connected, but philosophy still occupies a dominant position. God, the creator of the universe, seemed to be a kind of cosmic cosmic mind and absolute perfection. In the Middle Ages, religion begins to move into the main positions, and philosophy passes to it in submission, theism develops, a belief appears that is designed to complement the mind.

In the era of capitalism,a science that unites with philosophy, theology recede into the background. In the Age of Enlightenment, philosophy and religion are moving away, the gap between them is growing, as philosophy takes on militant forms. In our time this form gives way to a tolerant religious-atheistic philosophy.

For centuries, go hand in hand, thenapproaching each other, then moving away, philosophy and religion. Similarities and differences between them are manifested in different ways. Like religion, philosophy studies the root cause of the universe, speaks of the moral commandments given to man by God, and they differ not in content but in form only. In the history of the development of mankind, philosophy and theology often helped each other in matters of knowledge of the surrounding world.

The relationship between them has changed significantlywith the emergence of Christianity. Philosophy was forced to serve the religion, which becomes the most naive institution in the life of society. This is especially noticeable during the reign of Ivan the Terrible, when the formation of the Russian state took place. At this time, the Russian people, at last, realized themselves as a single whole, and a complete formation of views and principles took place.

In subsequent years, philosophy and religion establishedtheir positions and interaction, which contributed to the strengthening of the Russian state. Russia became a powerful power, its principles were: Orthodoxy, nationality, autocracy. Philosophy, based on thought and knowledge, makes it possible to better explain religion with its faith and revelations. Faith must exist in an alliance with knowledge, then it will be understood and supported by thinking people.

In modern times, philosophy seeks to reach the firstposition and restore the former glory. The statements about the self-sufficiency of the human mind and its autonomy from religion created a conflict between religion and philosophy. The approach of humanity to the 20th century puts the accents in a slightly different way. The omnipotence of the human mind is questioned. The unity of these two directions, which naturally complement each other, begins to return.

The correlation of philosophy and religion has always beencomplex and multifaceted, but for all their differences, have many similarities in their purpose and content. Philosophy is a worldview that gives a person an idea of nature, society, about a person and the relationship between people. Religion does the same. Both worldviews give answers to the same questions, although they proceed in several other ways.
